***Brash - Great place for a quick meeting. Light pastries only. (West Midtown) (Buckhead inside Atlanta History Center)
Spiller Park - Light food. Amazing coffee. Employees have their own baseball cards. Get the coconut sipper. (Ponce City Market) (Toco Hills)
Muchacho - Fun branding. Tacos and other food. Coffee and tea. Small interior. I never have long meetings here. (Reynoldstown)
Chrome Yellow - Quality coffee and pastries. Soundtrack is usually amazing. Nice interior. Always seems bustling, so bring headphones just in case. Laptop and meeting friendly. (Edgewood)
Bars & Restaurants:
The Optimist - Consistently on lists for best seafood restaurants in the nation. Play on a 2-hole mini golf course while you wait. Oyster bar and full bar. (West Midtown)
***Marcel - Modern take on a French Brasserie. Known for steak and oysters. Seafood tower is a grail. Full bar. Affordable late night menu after 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. (West Midtown)
Miller Union - Dressy farm-to-table restaurant. Amazing entrees and desserts. Full bar. (West Midtown)
Gio’s Chicken - Classic “peasant style” Italian fare. Some pasta offerings but the Lemon Chicken is the star of the menu. BYOB or wine if you like. (West Midtown)
Antico Pizza - Next door to Gio’s Chicken. Classic Italian coal oven pizza. BYOB or wine if you like. (West Midtown)
DAS BBQ - Best BBQ in ATL as voted by readers of Atlanta Magazine. Get the brisket, sausage, mac and creamed corn. Beer available. (West Midtown)
R. Thomas - Breakfast, hippy food and smoothies. Open 24 hours. (On Peachtree between Buckhead and Midtown)
Umi - Best sushi in the Southeastern US. Sit at the bar and go for the omakase. Other favorites are Rock Shrimp Tempura and Chilean Sea Bass. (Buckhead)
Himitsu - Umi’s unmarked, hush-hush cocktail lounge. Ask a local to help you get a password. (Buckhead)
Big Daddy’s Southern Cuisine - Classic soul food. Open Monday - Friday 6am - 6pm. (Downtown)
Fred’s Meat & Bread - Amazing cheesesteak. Another contender for best burger in ATL. Garlic fries are a must. (Krog Street Market)
***Ticonderoga Club - Great restaurant with cocktails a cult following. Best restaurant merch in town. (Krog Street Market)
Little 5 Pizza - Classic pizza-by-the-slice joint. Straight out of an 80’s movie. Pinball machine. Beers on draft. (Little 5 Points)
***The Local - One of Ponce de Leon’s OG dive bars. Some of the best chicken wings you’ll ever have. Wings only on Sunday, Wednesday – Saturday. (Ponce de Leon)
Eats Restaurant - Another of Ponce’s OG’s. Straight-forward food for a great price. Many locals speak fondly of this place. (Ponce de Leon)
No. 246 - Best pasta in ATL. Full bar. (Decatur)
Kimball House - Best oysters in ATL. Caviar and such. Wine program is extensive. Full bar. (Decatur)
SOS Tiki Bar - Amazing Tiki experience. So fun. Drinks come in all kinds of vessels. Sometimes they’re on fire. I think about this place every day. (Decatur)
Victory Sandwich - Small sandwiches order 2 or 3 if you’re hungry. Low key hangs. Day-drinking and ping pong go hand in hand. Full bar. (Decatur / Inman Park)
Beetlecat - Great seafood, cocktails. Peep the den underneath for novelty nautical vibes. Full bar. (Inman Park)
***Lloyd’s - A bar straight out of the 70’s. Pizza, mozzarella wedges, shrimp cocktail, and cheap beer. Full bar. (Inman Park off Dekalb Ave.)
The General Muir - Modern Jewish-style deli. Latkes are amazing. Order something with pastrami. (Druid Hills)
Argosy - Huge bar/restaurant with different rooms that create different environments. Late night pizza is a go-to. Full bar. (East Atlanta)
Octopus Bar - A late night spot for locals and service industry workers to grub and imbibe. Very exciting offerings for a late night cuisine in Atlanta. Open 10:30pm to 2:30am, Tuesday – Saturday. Full bar. (East Atlanta)
El Rey del Taco - Best authentic tacos in Atlanta. (Buford Highway)
BBQ Corner II - Authentic Chinese. So good, my parents insist on going here when they visit. (Buford Highway)
Lan Zhou Ramen - Hand-pulled noodles and authentic dumplings. Don’t forget to order a side of scallion pancakes. (Buford Highway)
Pho Dai Loi 2 - Best Vietnamese in town. (Buford Highway)
Hae Woon Dae - Comfortable, family-owned Korean BBQ restaurant. Check hours, but probably open. They’re open super late some nights. (Buford Highway)
Miss Gogi - Great non-charcoal Korean BBQ. Good for large groups. (Doraville)
Shoya Izakaya - Traditional Japanese eatery. Katsu curry is my go to. (Doraville)
Kula Revolving Sushi Bar - Conveyor belt sushi restaurant. Worth the experience one time. (Doraville)
Heirloom Market BBQ - Texas x Korean BBQ. It is amazing and worth the drive. Spicy Korean Pork is so memorable. (Cumberland)
